So for those who don’t know, I had knee surgery today. Everything went well and I am at home recovering while also being able to watch the Stars vs Sharks game tonight. Sorry for my absence the last couple of days, as I planned to post up about Monday night about the game vs the Ducks. But I was extremely busy the last few days cramming surgery prep and four days of work into two days. But If you watched the game Monday, there is very little I can add that you couldn’t most likely see from just watching the game.
So at home recovering and resting for the next few days with a sleep, meds, ice, my xbox and my laptop. So look forward to over the next few days, me going through and evaluating each Stars player and what the Stars should do with each player. I want to start with the goalies tomorrow, and from there move to D and then forwards over the weekend. Hope you get a chance to swing on by, read, and leave your thoughts on some of the players. My goal is to take each player and discuss if they should be with the team next season and what their role should be if they should stay. For some players it will be obvious, but for others there are question marks, and for even others there is a feeling that they are not part of this team’s future success. This team has talent, some great players that are showing high potential and already chipping in, some fine mid-career veterans and a hopeful new goalie showing returns already. Some change on the defensive side and some work making their shaky power-play a little more consistent and this team can be a 4-5 seed next year. So I plan to think fully about each player and if they can help this team improve or not, just like I believe management is doing in these final games.
Tonight the Stars are hosting those much hated San Jose Tunas, and have shown that they can play against talented teams. Dallas has from early on looked like the team headed to the playoffs, not the Sharks. Steve Ott has a short handed goal, a regular strength one, and then a power-play to record is first ever Hat-trick and in a even more rare fashion. The defense has looked solid for about 90% of the game and Marty Turco is continuing to show that he can still play as he has looked great tonight. James Neal & Jamie Benn have both looked great tonight to and have helped the onslaught, as the Stars are leading 5-1 with about 7 mins to go in the game. Great effort and can’t wait to start on this new project tomorrow. Off to take some meds and rest, enjoy the rest of the game!
