Hockey, Basketball, and Baseball oh my!

If you can not find some great sports to watch right now, you should stop being a football die-hard and branch out. We have playoff hockey and playoff basketball both just getting started, along with the baseball season just getting under way.

While playoff hockey is just getting under way, the level of play is already high in just about every series. I of course am still pulling for the Blackhawks, but I also have been paying a good amount of attention to all 4 of the Western match-ups. Every single series in the NHL playoffs has gone to a 1-1 series tie to start, and there have been a ton of great games early. San Jose is in a 2-1 hole after Dan Boyle helps the Colorado Avs win last night in OT….by scoring on his own goal! Thanks Dan for making the Sharks looked bad again in the playoffs:

The #1 seed being behind 2-1 to the #8? The #2 seed in the East (New Jersey) being down 2-1 in the series to the #7 seed (Flyers)? This is what the playoffs are about, anything can happen. Every night there are at least 2 if not 3 games on TV (Versus for the most part), and you can always catch some good action. I know I am enjoying it and watching game 3 of the Kings vs. Canucks series right now as I am writing this. Here is a nice video Versus provided the Fansided hockey bloggers to throw up:

Also, NBA playoffs just kicked off this weekend and although I do not pay much attention to anyone outside of the Mavs, Cavs and few top teams, it is more great sports action for people to watch. The Dallas Mavericks won their first game last night to go up 1-0 in the series over the hated Spurs. Dirk was on fire, and the Mavs hopefully are starting off a deep run. But there are also 7 other series going on, and just like the NHL playoffs there are games on every night (ESPN, TNT, local networks).

But wait, there is more!!! The MLB season just started up too! Rangers, Red Sox, anyone but the Yankees, whoever you may like is getting there season going. And at this point even the Nationals and Astros are still not eliminated, so everyone can get in on watching their local baseball team until half of them are out of the hunt by the end of May.

So see, there are all sorts of great things going on in sports right now. And even if you are a big football fan, the NFL draft is later this week so everyone should be happy sports-wise. Go Forth and Enjoy!!!
