Stars hockey starts tonight!

That’s right my fellow Dallas Stars and hockey fans, the puck drops tonight! At 7:30PM tonight the Stars get the preseason underway with a game against the Tampa Bay Lightening at the AAC. Sure it may only be preseason but it is hockey time and it is getting me excited to think that we are a mere 3 weeks away from the Stars home opener.

The Stars start off with three home preseason games this week: Tonight vs Tampa Bay, Friday night vs Colorado, and Saturday night vs the St. Louis Blues. So three times to see the team right off the bat, and a good chance for you to go see some of the new guys and some of the younger players fighting for roster spots in the bottom part of the roster. Now don’t expect to see all the big names play every night, but each night we should see a mix of the top guys and younger players or depth guys.

Tonight we will apparently see a top line of Morrow, Ribs, and Cheechoo. Looks like the Richards line and top D pair of Grossman and Robidas will not play either. According to Mark Stepneski at the Stars Blog on ESPN Dallas, he says we should expect young names like Larsen, Glennie, and Vincour will be playing along with guys like Peterson, Sutherby, Fistric, Daley, and Niskanen. And Krahn and Raycroft will be the goalies to choose from tonight. Should be a good start to the preseason, I will be keeping you updated on what I hear via radio and think of some of the preseason action this week.
