A couple of days off, and let’s hope that it helps the Stars regather and refocus. After going 4-0 to start off the season, their issues caught up with them on Monday night as they lost in Tampa Bay 6-5. Tomorrow Dallas plays the Florida Panthers before coming back home for a while, and it would be great to get back to winning and bring it home with them to Dallas.
Good news is that Jamie Benn is returning to the line-up after missing 3 games due to “concussion-like symptoms.” Should improve the play of the lower lines, as Benn is expected to play on the 3rd line with Steve Ott and Brandon Segal. Should also improve the second PP unit as he will probably center it with Ribs centering the top PP unit and Richards on the point. Good to see the team is healthy, let’s keep our fingers crossed that we can keep it that way for a while. Because Benn is back in the lineup, Aaron Gagnon has been sent back down to the AHL. I think with injuries and just movement through the season, we will see Gagnon get some more time up with the big club this season.
And it looks like Kari Lehtonen will start again tomorrow night against the Panthers. This comes from the word of coach Crawford, so expect Kari to start game 6 of the season. When we will see Raycroft has to be getting close, probably in one of the home games as the Stars play 4 in one week starting this Saturday night. But Lehtonen will be in the net again and it looks like the Stars are really going to lean on him this season.
