Stars look to Blackout the Blues

Black Friday…shopping, waiting in lines, people acting like fools for a few bucks saved, and millions of dollars spent every year. And hockey? You bet! The Dallas Stars host the St. Louis Blues tonight in downtown in a matchup of western conference foes. The Stars and Blues get to play a home-and-home set of games, as the two teams face off tonight then play again tomorrow night in St. Louis. The Stars won the previous meeting of the teams 3-2 in a shootout. Hopefully the Stars can get some momentum going, as although they have strung some wins together this season, as soon as they do they lose a couple in a row. The road games have been more of an issue for the Stars, but they did get a gritty and sound road win in Ottawa just two nights ago. String a win tonight and maybe a win or at least a point out of tomorrow and they can keep some progress moving forward.

After Raycroft played a sound game in the win Wednesday night, Kari Lehtonen will be back in action tonight but it is conceivable that Raycroft could play tomorrow night or Monday night just so that Kari does not make three starts in four nights. Both teams will have some guys out injured but it looks like the Blues will be missing more. Fistric and Barch will be out for Dallas (at least for tonight’s game), but the Blues are without a couple of their better forwards in Perron and Oshie along with defenseman Polak are all going to be out of the lineup for both games. The Blues started hot with new goalie Jaroslav Halak, and then hit a little of a skid. But they come into Dallas for this two game set on a three game winning streak. Could be a really solid game down at the AAC tonight. The Stars are 5-0-1 in their last six home games and have had some exciting games to see in that stretch.

Prediction: Dallas Stars 3, St. Louis Blues 2 ( In regulation this time )
