Stars hit the road, stop in St. Louis tonight

Wait, does the game today count as a night game or afternoon game? A strange start time for today’s matchup as your Dallas Stars visit the city up the river, as the puck drop today is at 5pm CST for a game within the same time zone. The St. Louis Blues are hot again and look to start their new year by keeping their current 5-game winning streak going. The Stars on the other hand are 1-3-1 in their last five games and need to find a way to turn things back around after playing their way up the the #2 spot in the standings.

If the Stars wanted a team to play, this might be the one. This is already the fourth time these two teams have met so far this season and the Stars are 3-0 and looking for a sweep of the season series. Stars won both of a home-and-home pair of games in November by scores of 3-2 and 2-1. While Dallas has won every meeting so far, every single game has been a one-goal game and those are something the Stars have thrived in this season. Kari Lehtonen is back in the crease again, despite letting in 10 goals against the last 39 shots against him. Kari was a big part of the Stars success to start the season but went 3-3-3 in December. That will not help. And if it keeps up, the speculation will start as to if the Stars are putting too much on him or if he just can not handle the top role all the time.

Tonight’s game will be on the hated Fox Sports SW plus, which I and many others do not get. This is getting annoying that about once every other week there is a game which Stars fans can not watch unless they have a big high priced cable/TV package. I will be tuning in online, and look forward to putting up my reaction tonight after the game.
