Pacific Division Update

Last night was a critical two points that the Dallas Stars recklessly gave away. Dallas held close for most of the game but two bad defensive plays early in the third doomed the Stars for the remainder of the game. The Stars weren’t only defeated by the Sharks tonight but the Coyotes and the Kings both picked up wins in the division.

Dallas sits at 4th in the division, three points behind the Yotes and the Kings, and the San Jose Sharks who beat Dallas on the second night of a back to back are now up on the Stars by six points.

The Stanley Cup

These March games are important, they could mean the difference between a high playoff seed or missing them entirely. Stars fans are far too familiar with watching other teams in the playoffs instead of their team.

The Western Conference standings have fallen for the Stars as well, Dallas now sits in 7th place in the west. Nashville, Anaheim and Minnesota are all outside of the playoff mark currently but not by many points. Dallas must pick up wins in quick order otherwise they may be left behind. For the teams outside of the bubble they certainly have their chance to play themselves into the playoffs. Dallas plays Nashville on 03/26 the Ducks on 03/23 and 04/3 and Minnesota on 04/10. For teams ranked in the top 8 they still have games against San Jose, Los Angeles, Phoenix and Chicago.

The Dallas Stars have thirteen total games left on the schedule, how many points do they need to pick up in order to not be left out? Make sure to visit our site everyday as we have all the Dallas Stars news and on Sunday I’ll start breaking down potential match-ups for the playoffs.
