Report: Gaglardi Agrees to Terms for Purchase of Team

As with everything in sports, this report is veiled in a vague half-truth sort of aura. But, it seems that it is mostly true. Tom Gagliardi, the businessman from Vancouver – seems to be very close to being the Stars new owner and is expected to soon enter a 30 day negotiation period where he has exclusive negotiation rights. With the price and most of the terms rumored to be agreed to, that leaves one big hurdle to manage in those 30 days as he will end up having to navigate the team through bankruptcy court so that he doesn’t have the weight of Tom Hicks’ indiscretions in the way of running his newly acquired NHL franchise.

I think Stars fans everywhere will rejoice to have anyone in the owner’s chair at this point, save the return of Tom Hicks. And with this progressing surprisingly quick – the resigning of Richards seems a little less farfetched.

We’ll keep you updated if we see any updates!
