With the Nashville Predators releasing their new look, it got me thinking about some possible changes to the Stars wardrobe today. Nashville showed off their new logos this week publicly for the first time, along with their new road and home sweaters. While Dallas is not overhauling their look anytime soon (as far as we know now), the team is supposed to get a new third jersey this year.
If you don’t remember, the Stars swapped their 3rd and road sweaters before last season, leaving the two primary sweaters with a very simple look. Some think it’s too bland and uninspiring. Others like the traditional style look. My problem is that this is not a team with old, traditional ways and styling. But when every team switched to Reebok and many were given new looks, the Stars went from great looking sweaters to a simple black one and a white one that was the only thing that showed color and logos. Now the green, the Texas logo, and the styling of the past is completely gone.
So with a new third on the horizon, I’m putting in my take on what I hope we see. The third needs to return to their past. Having just another black and white jersey would be atrocious. Bring back the green! Just because the team doesn’t have any does not mean that their jerseys have to be without too. Another thing I want back? An emblem! The current look of just having “Dallas” across the chest is not doing it for me. Either bring back the star logo or maybe surprise us all and finally put the Texas shoulder patch on the chest. But bring back some color to the team. We all the team is from Dallas, and having a retro look for a team that is still “young” in the history of the NHL is ridiculous. Word was that the team was “researching” bringing back green, so that is a good sign. But what should the go with? A North Stars-esqe mix of green and gold? Maybe a black 2nd home jersey with a green logo and lettering?
What do you want to see guys and gals? Let me know in the comments below! I might take some ideas and try to come up with some drafts this weekend.
