Puck Daddy Defender Rankings: No Stars to be Found

facebooktwitterreddit

To follow up Mr. Waldron’s post about the acquisition of Alex Goligoski for James Neal – Puck Daddy continued it’s journey through the best of their position.  Today’s entry?  With all of the forward positions out of the way we’re down to the top defenders in the league.

I don’t think anyone would be surprised to hear that Dallas doesn’t have one on the list which you can find here.  And for once I can’t really argue.  Not that the list is perfect, I’m sure some are left off and others are out of place as far as rank itself, but I have to say you could definitely rank any of them as of now, ahead of Goligoski, Robidas or Grossman.  Which just goes to show you that unless Goligoski has a gigantic season next year, the Stars are still missing that key cog.  Waldron did a great job in the article linked at the beginning of the post, describing just how great Goose actually did in his brief stint as a Star last season.  If he builds on that, then there’s no reason he can’t put up some great numbers, perhaps even prove to everyone that he is meant for the #1/#2 slots.

In the meantime, follow the Goose on twitter here @gollygoose33!
