The Dallas Stars officially announced the yearly Ice Breaker officially today. The Dallas Stars Ice Breaker is a great event for fans to go to every year right before the start of the season. This year it will again be held at the Galleria in the north Dallas area. Here is the Stars official release from the website:
Galleria Dallas will host the 2011 Dallas Stars Ice Breaker, a free fan event on Saturday, Sept. 10. Most of the Dallas Stars main roster will be signing autographs from 11 am – 1 pm near the center of the Galleria, with autograph locations on different levels surrounding the ice rink.
Galleria Dallas is located just north of LBJ Freeway and the North Dallas Tollway.
Fans in attendance can register to win an autographed Stars jersey right off the back of one of the players; the Stars will give away jerseys at the event. Fans can also purchase customizable Mini Plans, starting at 6 games, as well as tickets to all home games in October, November and December.
Fans can skate with the Dallas Stars Ice Girls on the Galleria Dallas ice as well as meet some of them around the autograph tables (having pictures taken with the girls is welcomed).
“We’re so excited that the hockey season is about to begin again and the Dallas Stars Ice Breaker is a great way to get things started,” said Stars President Tony Tavares. “We are very pleased to once again have the event hosted by Galleria Dallas. It should be a very fun day.”

The Ice Breaker is something I would encourage all fans to go out and be a part of. Over the last couple of years I have collected some autographs and photos with many current and former Stars players. It’s a great opportunity to meet the players (new and returning), collect autographs and collectibles, and also interact and see many fellow Stars fans. Last season I collected an autograph from every member of the team that was there on one puck, saw many friends and fellow fans that I knew, and even did a little shopping at the Galleria. Normally about 80-90% of the Stars active roster is out there every year, along with a few guys that are on the bubble or might play down in the AHL this season.
So I would highly encourage everyone to put it on their calender (Sept. 10th) and come out for at least part of it. It’s a great event and it is free to everyone. I will be out there again myself and will be part of the crowds. So bring the kids, parents, friends, and everyone else. Just don’t bring any Red Wings fans.
