Stars to Honor Skrastins with “37” patch this season.

The Stars have announced that this season they will wear a “37” emblem on the back of their helmets in remembered of the late Karlis Skrastins who was taken in the plane crash in russia that took the lives of many KHL players including Karlis and Ruslan Salei and the entire Lokomotiv team.  Karlis “Scratch” Skrastins wore the number 37 for the last two seasons on the Dallas squad.

They will also be holding a rememberence ceremony for Karlis and the other tragic losses to the hockey world this summer on the pre-season home opener on September 22nd against the Colorado Avalanche.

Further news; Brad Lukowich who was planning to wear the number 37 this season will now wear 47 out of respect to Karlis.
