Stars Fire Director of Amateur Scouting

Tim Bernhardt has been part of the scouting of the Dallas Stars since 1993.  His tenure ended today as he was dismissed from his role on the team.

General Manager Joe Neiuwendyk said it was due to a difference in opinion.  The vagueness of the statement does nothing for the facts but it definitelys ends your imagination on a nice journey.

I think we can all agree with Joe when he said that Tim had, “done some great things over the years.”  But you have to think that this whole changing of the guard with the direction of the team and coaching staff is all part of a bigger picture.

Probably has to do with the fact that you guys have had a total of 1 draft pick (Jamie Benn) make an impact at the NHL level since the 2005 draft.
