'Twas The Night Before A Dallas Stars Christmas

‘Twas the night of a Stars game and all through the room,
Not a player was stirring, but they would be soon.
The jerseys were hung in the lockers with care,
With the hope The Commish would soon be there.

The sticks were taped all snug and tight,
The visions of playoffs began to sound alright.
And Razor in his blazer and Gully in his suit,
Began to prepare for a sixty minute dispute.

When the AAC began to fill with noise,
Kari sprung from the room and led out the boys.
And when the puck was dropped at center ice,
There was no more playing Mr. Nice.

The arena lights twinkled on the ice below,
Another Nystrom shot and the red light did glow.
Up the rink the enemy, they came,
In front of their shot, Nik Grossman did lay.

When the players go rest, Jeff K comes to play,
He brings the Ice Girls to brighten everyone’s day.
Then comes time to resume the game,
Gully sends out the lines, calling them by name.

On Morrow, on Ribs, on Robi and Souray,
Benn and Eriksson! Get out there and play!
From behind the net to the top of the crease,
Steve Ott is there, just trying to keep the peace.

And as another game concludes as a win,
The reality of The Cup begins to set in.
As Dallas is the first team to four,
Those nagging injuries will hurt no more.

The ultimate goal is to hoist Lord Stanley’s Cup,
Every time the Stars are knocked down, they fight to get up.
For this chance rarely comes along,
Thankfully GM Joe has yet to be wrong.

For when it comes time for the second season,
It’s important to remember, the players have a reason.
The call has been put out for the fans to show,
For each night, we need 18,000 yelling, “Go, Stars go!”

Happy holidays to you and your families.
