Christopher Nilstorp put on a brilliant performance stopping 26 shots on Friday night on the road to earning his 13th win of the season as the Stars toppled the Houston Aeros 2-1. In their first outing of 2013, Jordie Benn and Alex Chiasson each notched goals respectively. Not to be outdone Aeros netminder Matt Hackett put on a stellar performance as well stopping 29 of 31 pucks. Texas spent a total of 10 minutes in the sin bin giving up the lone powerplay goal to the Aeros. Nilstorp and Benn received first and second stars of the game.

At home Saturday night Colton Sceviour put on a show as he notched a between-the-legs assist on one of two Matt Fraser goals. Texas tallied up another win, knocking the Peoria Rivermen 5-2. Jack Campbell was the busier netminder and was outstanding as always saving 36 of the 38 shots. Peoria spoiled Campbell’s shutout early in the third period, notching the first of two with three minutes in. All three stars of the game were handed to Texas; Sceviour, Fraser and captain Maxime Fortunus.

Stars were back in Houston Sunday night with another game against the Aeros. Texas grabbed the overtime win on Cody Eakin’s goal, securing them second place in the South Division. Eakin, Fortunus, and Mike Hedden picked up the three stars.

Texas is back in action this Friday at home and they meet Houston for the third time in a week.
