Report: Former Star Jason Arnott Practicing With The Stars

Since the NHL has ended the lockout on Sunday, the Dallas Stars are practicing at the Dr. Pepper Stars Center in Frisco, Texas to keep in shape. Derek Roy, Brenden Morrow, Mark Fistric, Ray Whitney, Vernon Fiddler, Richard Bachman, Stephane Robidas and free agent Jason Arnott. You heard my correctly. Jason Arnott is practicing with the Dallas Stars. He is now a free agent after playing last year with the St. Blues and he does live in Frisco but in my opinion, the Dallas Stars will not sign him. Last year with the St. Blues, Jason Arnott had 34 points (17G, 17A) in 72 games. The Blues over the summer decided to not sign.

Arnott is a veteran who has played with the Stars before. He does bring a physical presence and has playoff experience. The Stars were looking at him over the summer and thinking about signing him if Derek Roy wasn’t ready to play. But since Roy has recovered from off-season shoulder surgery, the Stars are good with centers. Right now Jason Arnott is just hoping to get a new contract with any team that is willing to take on the aging veteran.
