Game Preview: Blackhawks At Stars

BLACKHAWKS (3-0-0) at STARS (2-1-0)

TV: CSN-CH, FS-SW

Time: 7:30 pm.

This is the first of three meetings between the Chicago Blackhawks and Dallas Stars. The two teams split four games in 2011-12.

About The Stars

The Dallas Stars are coming off a 2-1 victory over the Detroit Red Wings and went 1-1-0 on the road. They got a two goal performance from Michael Ryder and a 39 save performance by Kari Lehtonen. Even Cody Eakin, who had a few chances in the game, assisted on both Ryder’s goal.

The Stars who had plane trouble in Detroit last night didn’t come home until Thursday night but don’t expect that to distract them as they are looking to win two games in row for the first time this season.

Kari Lehtonen will start in net for the Stars.

Players to watch for: Michael Ryder, who scored two goals in the 2-1 victory over the Wings.

Injuries: D Aaron Rome (groin) will not play tonight.

About The Hawks

The Chicago Blackhawks are 3-0-0 for the first time since 1972-73. They did that by beating the defending Stanley Cup Champions LA Kings, the defending Pacific Divison Champions Phoenix Coyotes, who defeated them in the first round last year and on Tuesday night, when they defeated St. Louis Blues, 3-2. They got a 32 save performance from Corey Crawford, who will start in goal for Chicago. They also got goals from Patrick Kane, Brent Seabrook and Viktor Stalberg.

Players to watch for: Marian Hossa leads the NHL in goals with four and in second in points with five.

Injuries: F Daniel Carcillo (knee) is out.

If the Dallas Stars have the same performance they had in Detroit, expect them to win their second in a row.
