Game Preview: Dallas Stars @ Columbus Blue Jackets

The Stars battled hard last night against the St Louis Blues, but fell to an agonising 4-3 loss. They will look to break their two-game losing streak tomorrow night as they travel to Columbus to take on the struggling Blue Jackets.

Providing that all the relevant paper work is completed, Jamie Benn will make his first appearance of this season in a Stars jersey. This will be a huge bonus to Dallas, as they were severely short-benched against the Blues last night.

Potentially being without the services of Roy and Jagr, the addition of Benn is critical.

Jaromir Jagr is currently day-to-day with a back injury that he picked up in the overtime loss to the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday night. It is still unknown whether he will ice in Ohio or not.

Derek Roy, the off-season recruit from Buffalo, didn’t play last night due to a groin injury, and it is also unknown as to whether he will face the jackets or not.

The Columbus Blue Jackets are coming into the game off the back of a tough loss against the Blackhawks. It has been a tricky start for the Jackets, as they have fallen to a record of 1-3-1, with just three points to their name.

It has been a struggle for the Jackets in front of goal this season, averaging a mere 1.6 goals per game. However, they do have some threats that the Stars need to wary of in Fedor Tyutin and Artem Anisimov.

Sergei Bobrovsky will probably get the start in between the pipes for the Blue Jackets. He has one win this season, and in the process has recorded a save percentage of .913.

After Christopher Nilstorp picked up an injury against in the loss to the Blues last night, it seems almost certain that Kari Lehtonen will be in goal for the Stars.

It is a crucial game for the Stars, as they need to get back to winning ways against a team they are more than capable of beating. Puck drop is at 6pm.
