Jaromir Jagr comes up big, scores game winning goal for Stars
Dallas, Texas–The Dallas Stars went into the AAC, looking to snap a four game losing streak against the Phoenix Coyotes, the same team they defeated in their home opener, 4-3. Their losing streak snapped as Jaromir Jagr scored the game winneras the Stars won 4-3Â in the shootout.
Antoine Roussel scored a highlight reel goal, his first ever NHL goal in his début as he backhand it passed Mike Smith’s glove at the 9:53 mark in the first period. Then Brenden Dillon made it 2-0, with a slap shot past Mike Smith’s glove as the puck went off Morris’s skate at the 12:03 mark. Then Radim Vrbata tipped in a goal that made it 2-1 at the 14:00 mark as Lehtonen couldn’t see the puck.
With 45 seconds into the second period, the Coyotes tied the game up at 2-2 with a goal by Martin Hanzal as he backhand it past Lehtonen’s glove. Michael Ryder broke the tie at the 14:14 mark in the 2nd period as he ripped it pass Smith’s blocker side. With that goal, Ryder notched his 400th career NHL. With his second goal of the game, Martin Hanzal tied the game up at 3-3 with a wrist shot pass Lehtonen’s blocker side at the 18:26 mark in the second period
In the shootout, Jaromir Jagr scored the game winner as he blasted it passed Mike Smith. Next game is against the Phoenix Coyotes, tomorrow night at 7:30.
