Since the news about Dallas’ hiring of Lindy Ruff is all over the place, we decided to spare you his name for today’s edition of the Hat Trick. Instead, read on to see who else got hired today, who’s trying to kick off their rapping career (and no, it’s not Mo again,) and check out what a recent poll had to say about the team’s new gear.
Former Dallas head coach Dave Tippett accepted an offer from the Phoenix Coyotes to extend his position as the team’s head coach. While the details haven’t been disclosed as of yet, the Coyotes organization has stated the agreement is “long-term.” It’ll be interesting to see how the state of the team evolves in the next couple of months to a year, and potentially how much Tippett likes the idea of moving to Seattle.
For years fans have called Jamie Benn the next Mike Modano, but he may be taking those accolades a little too far. Earlier this week we shared with you Mike Modano’s rendition of 50 Cent’s In Da Club. This week, Benn joined up with Yo! Roger Raps! to try his hand at Mama Said Knock You Out. I’m quite concerned to think of who may be next in this lineup…..Loui??
Finally, the topic of the team’s new gear has been swirling since its unveiling earlier this month. Some love it, some hate it, but apparently the general acceptance of the new colors and logo is split right down the middle. SportsDay conducted a survey of 5,000 people, and shared some of the comments taken during the survey. Check it out, and feel free to add your feelings on the new digs in the comments section.
