Despite heading into the offseason, things are far from slowing down in the NHL. Sunday marks one of the most important days of the year for each of the league’s 30 teams: the Draft. Teams around the hockey world continue to reinforce already-successful teams, and vote on one of the Stars’ newest members in Sports Day’s poll for the area’s most impressive young star.

Upon claiming the organization’s first-ever championship, the President’s Cup-winning Allen Americans continue to set the team up for continued success. Not only did the team sign brothers Trevor and Tyler Ludwig to contracts for the 2013-2014 season, it also made a point to bring back some of the most influential members of the organization. Welcome back Steven Martinson and Richard Matvichuk!

The Draft is quickly approaching, and team’s are mulling over what the world’s most talented young players have to offer. It’ll be particularly interesting for Dallas, as the team holds both the 10th place pick and the 29th, which it earned upon trading Jaromir Jagr to Boston, and Boston beating New York in the second round of the playoffs. To keep up with who has selected whom and which team’s up next to take their pick, check out the order of selection.

Dallas has proven to be a difficult market in which to develop a solid, consistent, reliable fan base. But some of the team’s strongest players are making themselves known, and are being held to standards the area’s most popular teams: the Cowboys. Throughout the next few weeks, Sports Day will be hosting a tournament ranking the area’s fastest rising young stars, and it’s up to you to make a name for your young Dallas Stars! Today features the first battle involving one of our own: vote Brenden Dillon!
