Brenden Dillon went out on the ice today in Frisco for a small part of the 45 minute practice but will not be ready for tomorrow’s game against Anaheim.
Lindy Ruff commented, “He skated this morning for just a short period of time. He may have a chance to skate with the team tomorrow. We’re advancing, but he won’t be ready to play.”
Ruff is looking to take baby steps and make the proper calls before Dillon steps in a high-intensity game like we’ve seen over the last week.
Kevin Connauton will most likely get the nod for Dillon’s position in Game 3, leaving Rome as the defensive scratch for the exhibition. Connauton scratched for Game 1 but filled in for Game 2. He skated for 12 minutes on a line with Sergei Gonchar primarily and ended with a -1 rating after finding himself on the ice during the Getzlaf equalizer. This will be his second NHL playoff game to skate in.
Though down 0-2, the Stars are still full of energy and ready for the challenge that Game 3 sets in front of them. If they can win, they will pull closer in the series and leave many people wondering what will happen next.
Puck drops at 8:30 from the AAC and the game can be found on NBSCN or TXA 21. Go Stars
