In Alex Chiasson’s report card, I said that the Stars should look for a way to move Chiasson around this offseason.
He seemed to lose his persistence in early November and it didn’t seem to show back up until late March. So his slump was not a good one and he saw his line position change from 2nd to 4th and his minutes go way down. Chiasson has one year remaining on his contract and is still in the rookie stages of his career as an RFA.
Alex Chiasson scored 12 goals and tallied 23 assists this past season, including a quarter of those coming in the first 3 games of the season. His numbers in the playoff were just about average, netting 1 goal and registering 1 assist. But if you look at his game log, there are plenty of gaps in his record where he went completely flat, including an 18 game drought. But he could still end up being valuable if the Stars keep him, but we just don’t know and won’t know until early October.
But enough of my yammering, it’s your turn! VOTE now on how you feel the Stars should act regarding Alex Chiasson come July 1st:
