Jason Spezza Coming To The Dallas Stars

TAKE A MOMENT TO SCREAM WITH ME!

Yes, it’s true, Jason Spezza has OFFICIALLY been traded to the Dallas Stars!

Spezza has been a big name on the Stars wish list and Jim Nill finally found a way to reel him out of Ottawa’s grasp. Spezza will come along with prospect Ludvig Karlsson to Big D in exchange for Alex Chiasson, Alex Guptill, Nicholas Paul, and a second round pick in the 2015 NHL draft. Not here to brag, but we at Blackout Dallas called Alex Chiasson being dealt. Now here’s an explanation.

Some of you might be thinking, “why would we trade Alex Chiasson, he has such a bright future?!”. Well, this trade will definitely favor the Stars and Jim Nill pulled off a complete steal (as always). Remember when we thought that trading Loui Eriksson for that punk Tyler Seguin was insane until we saw who won the better end of the deal? Well, put that mindset into action again.

The Stars have been constantly hunting Jason Spezza and have finally found a way to snag him. And with only one starter from Dallas being sent to Canada, they won the deal. Spezza will be the headline of Dallas and is going to be the saving grace they need for the second line center position. Alex Chiasson will be missed and was a great home-grown player, but Spezza is going to help heave the Stars’ load to the Cup.

Jason Spezza had another tremendous season in Ottawa, scoring 23 goals and locking 43 assists. This is contrary to Alex Chiasson’s 13 goals and 22 assists last year. Spezza is going to be set on the second line surrounded by young talent that he can help grow and lead. He will also help manage the dot that Seguin had to basically do single-handedly last year. Spezza is the best trades the Stars could’ve gone for, and he will now bring his talents to Big D in what now looks like a potential Cup run. Now, it will be hard for Spezza, who has spent his entire career with the Senators, same for Chiasson and the Stars. But this trade is the best for everyone. Chiasson will now head to Ottawa and get a fresh start and definitely find more playing time.

The Stars will now be able to relax and not have to worry about finding a center in free agency which has just opened. They can now focus on a backup goalie and a top two defenseman.

Wow, Jim Nill has successfully brought 2 of the league’s top centers to Dallas in a mere 362 days. How do y’all feel about THAT?

Please tell me your thoughts on the trade and who you think won below!!! I for one think the Stars are basically set now, especially in the dot!

GO STARS!
