Stars Power Countdown: 93 Days

So, another day down and another day closer to the Stars season opener at the AAC on October 9th against their divisional rival the Chicago Blackhawks.

Quick note: I’m not sure if the contest is going to work because yesterday’s countdown had a trivia question attached and the good news is all people who entered an answer got it right. But no one will be able to get the point because we did not hit the minimum number of views at 150. I wanted to really quickly point out that even if you get to the post an hour later than others and it already has a plethora of comments, you still have a chance to win, so DO NOT give up considering the winner is selected at random out of my Stars hat. So we’ll have to see how the next trivia question post does. On today’s countdown, we’re going to talk shortly about the season opener.

So the Stars are set to open up against the Blackhawks in 93 days. This will be the perfect team for the Stars to start out with so they can truly prove their worth and show if they are ready for a Cup run this coming year. The Blackhawks have not been very gracious to the Stars in exhibitions, especially throughout the past two seasons. They have in a total of 8 games outscored the Stars 36-16… No further comment. But this year the Stars pulled off one win at the Madhouse, largely due to the performance of Kari Lehtonen who finished saving 47 of 50 and a beauty of a backhander from Antoine Roussel on a penalty shot late in the third period. The Stars took a mere 18 shots that game and the Blackhawks made sure that they paid and came to Dallas a week later and stomped the Stars 6-2.

But this year, the Stars are definitely more prepared and experienced. So this game will be a good one. Make sure to get your tickets while they’re still hot! If you see a trivia question, go ahead and plot the answer below and tell your friends to view the post so it can hit 150 and maybe you can score a point towards a Stars prize pack!

Comments below and GO STARS.
