Good afternoon, Stars fans! I hope your Monday has gone well up to this point, and just think, we’re one day closer to the Stars season opener! 80 days till the Dallas Stars open their season against the Chicago Blackhawks.
How about another poll to power you through the rest of your Monday? This one will focus on the Stars rivalries:
The Dallas Stars have set many rivalries in motion over their last 21 years in Big D. Some aren’t as practiced anymore as others, but some still flourish and blossom every time the teams meet on the ice.
The biggest rival teams have seemed to boil down to a select few:
-The Detroit Red Wings:
The Stars always seem to have a fire brewing when the ol’ Wings come to town. The AAC seems to be packed with red-backs every time Detroit visits. But the ice is where the main battle always seems to ensue.
-The Chicago Blackhawks:
Same as Detroit in regards to the AAC being filled with red jerseys. The new division mates truly know how to get down and dirty when they see each other on the freeze.
This was a partial rivalry back in the days of these two duking it out in the Pacific Division, but the rivalry was rekindled and brought to the max after the most recent playoff series where the two teams threw down.
This rivalry is a full-blown territorial fight. Ever since the Minnesota North Stars moved to Texas and left Minnesota, a historic hockey town, without a team, there’s been some really bad blood. Sparks flying are a guarantee when the two meet up in their divisional battles.
-San Jose Sharks:
The Stars and Sharks always seem to meet each other on the ice in a “win-or-go-home” setting. A lot of physicality is expected and a lot of physicality is delivered.
80 days till puck drop.
