It’s a rainy and muggy day in DFW. But that doesn’t slow down our countdown in the slightest. 71 days until the Dallas Stars open up their regular season against the Chicago Blackhawks at the American Airlines Center.
NHL Christmas sweaters.
This topic really peeved me off as well, and our own co-editor Dustin Manko wrote an in-depth article on it (click here).
I mean, the NHL decides to do something awesome and release a line of horrific but high quality holiday sweaters, but they found a way to not include everyone. Only six teams were recognized, and each of those six teams got TWO versions of a sweater. Why couldn’t they of just done one version and give it to every team? Not sure…
But with no Victory Green holiday get-up in the foreseeable future, I took matters into my own hands. I contacted the NHL fan shop on their Facebook account and this is what I managed to get out of them:
“Our sources say at this time the Vendor that we receive this item from doesn’t have any other teams available. However, there is a possibility that these may be added in the future. Thanks again, hope this helps!”
Well, it doesn’t help because I still don’t have a magnificent green sweater, but there is a slim of hope.
And it’s not like some teams don’t want them, I mean look at the NFL. Forever Collectibles, the company that is making all of these, made a line a few years back that included EVERY NFL team and did not leave a single one out. Why the NHL drew the short straw is far beyond me, but hopefully someday they will come to their senses when they want to make $64.95 plus shipping and handling off of a 17 year old.
