Another weekend, another set of days chipped away. The season opener is on it’s way! 68 days until the Dallas Stars open their season against the Chicago Blackhawks at the American Airlines Center.
The Dallas Stars organization recently released a new sort of “promoting ad”. They have brought a new idea in, and named it the “Lone Stars State”.
The Lone Stars State is basically a 6’x6′ Dallas Stars logo that is currently touring the state. It hit various hot spots in Dallas and Fort Worth last week and this past week it has been enjoying the weirdness of Austin. It will stick there until August 3rd, when it will be packed up and moved to San Antonio, where it will spend August 6th-10th. It will then hit up Houston from August 13th-17th. It will conclude it’s trip back in the DFW area and from August 20th-24th, then take a break and continue in DFW from August 27th to September 1st.
Here’s the catch. They tell the public their exact location each day, and the public can go and take a picture with it! After the picture is taken, you can post it to Twitter or Instagram and use the hash tag, #LoneStarsState. If you use this, you’ll be entered into the contest.
Once the Star is packed up, the organization will choose their favorite photo of the day and the group from the winning photo will receive two free lower-level tickets for a non-premium Stars game in November. Pretty cool, right? But, it gets better.
If you don’t win the daily prize of two tickets, you are still entered in the drawing for the grand prize, which includes four lower-level to a game that will also include a private tour of the American Airlines Center press box and the Stars social media HQ. So make sure you get out there and take a picture with this outrageous logo! Once you get a quality picture, use the hash tag and plop it on Instagram or Twitter and hope for the best!
