Dallas Stars Power Countdown: 51 Days: Top Game of 13-14

It’s Tuesday and the week rages on! So does the countdown! 51 days until the Dallas Stars open their season up against the Chicago Blackhawks on October 9th at the American Airlines Center.

I’ve started a new series, and if you didn’t catch yesterday’s poll, tough luck.

I have made a bracket, one like you would see for the NBA or NHL playoffs, of the 16 best games of the Dallas Stars 2013-2014 regular season. I’m sure you will agree entirely with the 16 games I have chosen, and if not, then just play along and comment at the end with which one you feel should have been given a chance and won.

So, I will put a poll up for each of the next 15 days featuring one of the games, with a brief argument for why it should be considered. Then, you can go to the bottom and vote on which one you think deserves to move on to the next round. The poll will expire 24 hours after it is put up, just in time for the next bracket of games to be put up. At the end of the Sweet 16, I will announce the winners of the entire round and start up the Elite 8, and so on and so forth. Sound fun? If so, great! If not, oh well.

Yesterday, the Dallas Stars @ Detroit Red Wings on November 7th faced off against the Vancouver Canucks @ Dallas Stars on March 6th. I’ll announce the winner of that one after all the others are voted for and done.

TODAY’S MATCHUP: Dallas Stars @ Calgary Flames on November 14th VS. Toronto Maple Leafs @ Dallas Stars on January 23rd

Dallas @ Calgary, 7-3 F:

Just like one of yesterday’s matchups, it seems as though this is going to be “The Tyler Seguin Show” ™. Tyler Seguin really proved his worth to the Dallas Stars in this game, scoring a hat trick and officially putting the NHL on watch for his record setting year. And Kari Lehtonen sitting on his own net not giving a gosh darn? You cannot ask for much more than that. Jamie Benn had a fun time too, with his Bobby Orr-type goal. Seguin made his mark in Calgary, and officially notched his first of three hat tricks in a green uniform during the 2013-2014 season.

Toronto @ Dallas, 7-1 F

Another seven goal game, another fun game, nonetheless. No one had an outstanding milestone in this game and nothing turned out to be a “game changer”. It was just fun to watch the Stars beat the snot out of the Leafs! With seven goals tallied and a goalie change for the Leafs, along with the invention of the “Rally Bieber”, it was truly a night to remember! Great game, to say the least.

So, you vote now! Be on the lookout tomorrow for the next edition of this playoffs series! You have until 2:30 PM CST on Wednesday, August 20 to cast your vote and help the game you thought was better to move on! VOTE BELOW.

Which Was The Better Game Of The Stars 2013-2014 Regular Season?

  • Maple Leafs @ Stars (57%, 16 Votes)
  • Stars @ Flames (43%, 12 Votes)

Total Voters: 28
