Dallas Stars Power Countdown: 39 Days: Second Round Results

It’s Sunday, but not to fear! One more day of weekend is in store for most of you! The countdown has officially dropped out of the 40’s as well! Just 39 days until the Dallas Stars open their season up against the Chicago Blackhawks on October 9th at the American Airlines Center.

I’ve started a new series, and if you didn’t catch yesterday’s poll, tough luck.

I have made a bracket, one like you would see for the NBA or NHL playoffs, of the 16 best games of the Dallas Stars 2013-2014 regular season. I’m sure you will agree entirely with the 16 games I have chosen, and if not, then just play along and comment at the end with which one you feel should have been given a chance and won.

So, I will put a poll up for each of the next 15 days featuring one of the games, with a brief argument for why it should be considered. Then, you can go to the bottom and vote on which one you think deserves to move on to the next round. The poll will expire 24 hours after it is put up, just in time for the next bracket of games to be put up. At the end of the Sweet 16, I will announce the winners and results of the entire round and start up the Elite 8, and so on and so forth. Sound fun? If so, great! If not, oh well.

The Sweet 16 has been over for a while now and the Elite 8 polls have all officially closed! Who’s ready for the results? Here is the vote tally for the last four games:

The Detroit Red Wings game from November 7th VS. The Toronto Maple Leafs game from January 23rd: Detroit won the match, 12-4

The Minnesota Wild game from March 8th VS. The Los Angeles Kings game from December 23rd: Minnesota won the match, 13-3

The Boston Bruins game from November 5th VS. The Pittsburgh Penguins game from January 25th: Boston won the match, 11-0

The Nashville Predators game from April 8th VS. The St. Louis Blues game from April 11th: St. Louis won the match, 12-5

So there are the results! Here are the matchups for the next round, The Final Four:

Detroit vs. Minnesota

Boston vs. St. Louis

In tomorrow’s countdown, the first matchup of the Final Four will be released and you can vote! Thanks so much to all of you that have voted, and make sure to tell fellow Stars fans as well as your friends and family to vote too!

Comments and questions below, and as always thanks for reading! Go Stars.
