Dallas Stars Power Countdown: 0 Days: It’s Time!

It’s time to celebrate! The Dallas Stars regular season starts in 12 hours as they get set to face off against division rival Chicago Blackhawks at 7:30 PM CST at the American Airlines Center!

Wow, the game is tonight. I have not slept soundly in over three nights and cannot wait for this matchup. The official lines will be rolled out. The fresh, new ice has been laid and is ready for an intense battle tonight.

Just think. I started this countdown a grand sum total of 96 days ago! That’s about a fourth of a year! On the other hand, the wait since the drastic night of April 27th has been almost double that at 165 days.

But this season is gonna be different, that’s what I keep telling myself. This year, we’re going to prove everyone wrong, and for the first time in a while, we’ll prove some people right! The new members on the roster are going to help push us past the cavern of a first-round playoff team into a fourth-round playoff team.

Is this going to be the year? Are the Dallas Stars going to officially turn the Stanley Cup Victory Green for the first time in history and bring it home to Big D for the first time in 16 years? The players have trained hard, the staff has worked hard, and we have examined hard. Now, it’s time to see if all that pays off.

The Dallas Stars start their hopeful “surprise” season with a worthy opponent and divisional foe, the Chicago Blackhawks. The Blackhawks had one of the most impressive off-seasons alongside the Dallas Stars, but theirs was not so much accomplished by gaining valuable players, but theirs was due to the fact that they did not lose any valuable players. Will the Stars be able to skate with them? Many say no, some say yes. The game will be a battle of wits, pain, endurance, and skill. But the real question is: who has more to give? Who has more to lose? Who wants it most?

This upcoming season will be no walk in the park for the Dallas Stars. The road ahead is infested with potential injuries, heartbreaking losses, major upsets, and utter disasters. But it also contains joy and victory. Which piece of the trail will prevail?

It’s going to be a fun game to watch, and I will be there front and center to see it go down (as a side note, you can come and meet me in Section 119). Will you? If not, will you be set in front of you TV, just ready for the puck to drop already.

The American Airlines Center is projecting a sell-out crowd, and there will be a fair share of Blackhawks fans there. I have been petitioning the #RidOfTheRed for 76 days now, and let’s hope it has paid off. Either way, the Stars will need every ounce of fandom and Stars pride they can get.

For the past 96 days, I have been ending with my regular statement of comments and questions etc. and then the day count. There is no more day count. This is about to happen. Tonight, all is revealed in a no-holds-barred battle for supremacy in the NHL’s toughest division between two of the NHL’s toughest clubs.

The American Airlines Center is ready for the 2014-2015 campaign. So are the Dallas Stars. The question is: are you? It may end well, it may not, but will you be there supporting? Are you ready to give your all so they give their all? Show your pride, let yourself be heard. Radiate with Dallas Stars spirit.

Dallas Stars fans, we have a crazy season ahead. It’s go time. Let’s get it done.

Comments and questions below, and as always, thanks for reading. 0 days and a few hours of change left. Go Stars.
