Dallas Stars captain, Jamie Benn, started providing tickets to Stars games for kids with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and their families in 2013. He was even honored by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society this past sesason for his continued efforts.

Jamie Benn started his charitable work with MS through the Dallas Stars because a close family friend from back home has MS. Having Jamie Benn as an ambassador for MS is very powerful to the MS Society. Awareness is a huge obstacle the MS Society is struggling with and hopefully since Benn aligned himself with the cause more people are hearing about MS.

About 400,000 people in the United States and about 2.5 million people worldwide have MS. It’s a live long illness that affects the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves. Currently their is no cure.

Benn’s Beauties

Since 2013, Jamie Benn has donated countless Dallas Stars tickets to kids living with MS in the Metroplex and their families. They’re called “Benn’s Beauties”. Occasionally at Stars games you’ll see a Benn’s Beauties shout-out on the jumbotron.

"“I’m excited to provide an opportunity for those with multiple sclerosis to attend a Stars home game.” -Jamie Benn"

Fairly recently, Benn was honored by the National MS Society at the Dallas On the Move Luncheon in October 2016 and was given the award “Person on the Move” for his continued support of the MS movement.

On a personal note, MS has affected my life since my mom was diagnosed with MS a few months after I was born. She’s been an active contributor to the National MS Society and we actually got the pleasure of meeting Jamie Benn when we attended the Dallas On the Move Luncheon reception. That night, Benn signed a jersey for my mom saying “Benn fights MS” which, as a Stars fan, made my mom’s day to say the least. Keep up the good work Jamie!
