Stars vs Hitchcock & the Rejects (Take 2)

Tonight Dallas faces off against Columbus for the second time this season. And Marty is still trying to get that bad taste out of his mouth. Last time the Blue Jacket beat Dallas at the AAC 4-1. That happens to be the last road victory Columbus has, who have since gone 0-6-3 on the road and dropped near the bottom of the league.

While Dallas has had troubles with defense this season so far, the Blue Jackets have had an even bigger problem with it. If my stats are right, former Stars coach Ken Hitchcock’s Jackets have allowed 131 Goals Against. That is good for being tied with the Hurricanes as the most in the league. Dallas has a -5 goal difference so far this year, while Columbus owns a -26 mark (3rd worst).

In short, Dallas has to attack tonight and score on some of those chances that they could not capitalize on in their 4-2 loss to San Jose Monday night. Dallas has the firepower, and with their blue-line short thin right now this could turn in to a little bit of a scoring contest. Dallas had good jump and hustle against a top team Monday but failed to take advantage many times. Tonight they will need to put a few of those in and start off the game with energy.

Prediction: Stars bring a W home for Christmas, 5-3.

GO STARS!!!
