Lison, Mousseau Named To NAHL Top Prospects Roster
Lone Star Brahmas Captain Matt Lison and Alternate Captain Anthony Mousseau have been selected to represent the South Division at the 2014 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament. The tournament will be held February 17 – 18 at the Troy Sports Center in Troy, MI.
NAHL players without an NCAA commitment are eligible to participate in the five team tournament. Each of the four divisions will field a team for the tournament in addition to an 18U Selects team. The roster for each team will consist of 20 players including 12 forwards, 6 defensemen and 2 goalies. All teams will play two games with the division based teams competing against each other and the 18U Select team playing a yet to be named opponent on the 17th followed by a game against the USNTDP U17 team on the 18th.
The NAHL Top Prospects Tournament is one of the most scouted events of its kind. There were over 170 NHL and NCAA Division I programs with scouts in attendance at last season’s event. Over one third of the players that competed in last year’s event ended up with an NCAA Division I opportunity.

Matt Lison came to the Lone Star Brahmas after spending two seasons with the Bay State Breakers of the EJHL. Lison is a native of the Pittsburgh, PA area and played his U18 hockey with the hometown Pittsburgh Hornets. Matt has consistently shown the ability to put the puck in the back of the net and this year is no exception as he leads the Brahmas in both points and goals scored.
Lison is a lead by example kind of guy. He does not have the flashy, highlight reel kind of game, but he always finds a way to work himself into the right place at the right time. Lison’s play is befitting of the get the job done, blue collar area where he was raised.

Anthony Mousseau is in his second season with the franchise coming to North Richland Hills after the Texas Tornado team was moved to the NyTex Sports Centre and renamed the Lone Star Brahmas. Mousseau hails from the Motor City and played his midget hockey within the well known Little Caesars organization. He played 97 games in all with the U16 and U18 teams before being tendered by the Texas Tornado.
With the Tornado last season Mousseau had a productive rookie season finishing with 17 points and a +12 in 55 games played. “Moose”, as he is known by the fans, has been one of the more consistent players for the Brahmas all season. His game belies his smaller stature as he is not afraid to go into the corners to dig out a puck or to put the body on a forward carrying the puck into the zone. Mousseau’s offensive and puck moving ability has earned him his share of power play time as evidenced by his 10 power play assists this season.
