The Dallas Stars recalled forward Chris Mueller from their American Hockey League affiliate on Friday. Mueller has appeared in 8 games for Dallas this season but has yet to record a point. He has also appeared in 59 games for the Texas Stars of the AHL and has accumulated 54 points (24 goals, 30 assists).

Mueller’s recall is in response to Ray Whitney’s lower body injury sustained on Thursday against the Carolina Hurricanes. Whitney is listed as day-to-day but is not expected to dress on Saturday against Tampa Bay.

Erik Cole skated for a third straight day on Friday and is inching closer to a return. He is listed as questionable for Saturday’s game and will likely be a game-time decision.

Stars are in St. Petersburg, Florida on Saturday to continue their 5-game road trip against the Lightning. Game time is 7pm EST.
