You have to feel for Stephane Robidas. He is one of those heart and soul players that every team could use. We all know he does all the little things right, both off and on the ice. Despite my still lingering Pacific Division hate for the Anaheim Ducks, I’m sure I’m not the only Stars fan who was pulling for him once the Stars were eliminated from the playoffs last season. As good as that Ducks team was, it is kind of crazy to think that the 2008 playoffs were the closest that he has come to the Stanley Cup. After signing with the Toronto Maple Leafs earlier this summer, one wonders if he’ll ever get another chance to play on a contender. Injuries killed him last season, but the guy deserves a chance.

With all the news focused on the shiny, new Dallas Stars, some fans might have missed out on what is happening with former Stars around the hockey world. Don’t worry, I have you covered. On to the links!

Dallas East? First it was the St. Louis Blues with the Dallas North makeover, grabbing the likes of Steve Ott, coach Ken Hitchcock, and Doug Armstrong, among others. Now the Nashville Predators are getting in on the act. Last season they signed former Star Eric Nystrom, and earlier this summer traded for James Neal. Then the Preds signed both Mike Ribeiro and Derek Roy to one year deals. Maybe Jim Nill could interest them in Sergei Gonchar? This headline alone is worth the click. [Puck Daddy]

Not to be left out, Brenden Morrow has signed with the Tampa Bay Lightning. General manager Steve Yzerman had concerns over the lack of experience on his roster, will Morrow provide the veteran leadership they need? He is by no means done, but he is definitely not the player Stars fans remember. [HockeyBuzz.com]

Do you love the Stars so much that you need to show your support in the form of license plate holders? You better hurry up, as it appears that your time might be running out. Save the plates! [Dallas Morning News]

Former Stars defenseman Richard Matvichuk has been named the head coach of the CHL’s Missouri Mavericks, after winning back to back titles with the Allen Americans. News flash, he wants to win there too. [Missouri Mavericks]

Did anyone else know that Mike Modano was pregnant? Well not really him, but his wife Allison recently gave birth to twins. Congrats to the Modano family. We can now start the countdown until Jack gets drafted by the Stars. Modano might be having the greatest summer ever, or at least a comparable one to the summer of 1999. Watch him talk about the twins, getting elected to the Hall of Fame, and other stuff too. [MyFoxdwf.com]

As always, I welcome your comments. Thanks for reading and go Stars!
