Thoughts and Observations
Game Seven? The Dallas Stars had other plans. They pulled it off in game six, and won their first playoff series in eight years.
Jamie Benn was magnificent as usual. Kari Lehtonen got the job done in net. The penalty kill was strong for most of the game. But overall, the entire team did their job in game six.
Their were plenty of individual shining moments, but the entire team hustle and effort was the reason the Stars got through to round two. After a disappointing loss in game five, it would have been easy for the team to come into Sunday’s game without momentum.
Instead, they came with firepower and explosiveness, and got far ahead enough of the Minnesota Wild to where they couldn’t catch up. The green and white are off to the Western Conference Semi-Finals.
