5. Sharp’s First Goal As A Star

It was October 27, 2015. The Dallas Stars were eight games into their regular season campaign, and things were going well. Dallas was 6-2-0 and had made a furious jump out of the gate.

That night, they squared off with the Anaheim Ducks at home, looking to hop back in the win column after losing their most recent game.

For Patrick Sharp, he was simply trying to hop in the goal column. He had played all eight games of the Stars’ season, skating first and second line minutes, but had yet to hit the back of the net. He had definitely been trying, though, averaging three shots a game through the first eight.

But October 27th was where the line was drawn. Just as Daryl Reaugh predicted at the beginning of the game, Sharp scored his first goal on a beautiful centering feed from Jamie Benn.

The Stars were in a devastating 3-0 hole at the beginning of the second period, but Sharp’s goal early in the middle frame helped jumpstart the Stars in what would eventually be an impressive 4-3 comeback win.

To see Sharp’s first goal as a Star, you can fast forward to 1:13 on the YouTube clip above and watch from there. Or you can just relive the impressive comeback and watch the whole thing from beginning to end.

Either way works.
