The Dallas Stars have a quick turnaround after Boston as they play the Ottawa Senators on Sunday. This is a great test early in the season for the Stars to see if they can handle games on back-to-back days. Let’s look at the keys of the game against Ottawa.

Dallas Stars vs Ottawa Senators: 1. Don’t let the loss get to you

The Dallas Stars need to forget about the 3-1 loss to Boston Saturday night and get some rest and focus on the early afternoon tilt with the Senators. Hopefully, the Stars realize they have 80 games left this season to make the playoffs.

Dallas Stars vs Ottawa Senators: 2. Which Dobby shows up

Anton Khudobin will be starting in the net on Sunday against the Senators. We know from last season once he allows a goal in the net, sometimes more goals follow. If the Stars want to win. it depends if we get last year’s Dobby or the one from the Stanley Cup run.

Dallas Stars vs Ottawa Senators: 3. Consistent offense

The Stars need to keep the offensive pressure on their opponents. If the Stars want to make it back to the playoffs and go on a deep run, you consistently need to score every game. Hopefully, fatigue from Saturday night’s game doesn’t show on Sunday afternoon.

Dallas Stars vs Ottawa Senators: Key Ottawa Players

Drake Batherson

One of the Senators that consistently found the back of the net last season. I wouldn’t be shocked if he is constantly in front of Dobby tomorrow night trying to get rebounds to put past him.

Brady Tkachuk

One of the most physical players on the Senators. He’s also a consistent shot-creator who ends up on the score sheet along with Batherson. Another weapon the Stars defense needs to keep in check.

Tim Stuzle

Had a stellar rookie season being one of the top rookies in the league. Stuzle accumulated 29 points during the short season which is a feat of its own. Stars cannot afford to sleep on him when going over the scouting report, could come back and haunt them.
