The Dallas Stars take another road trip up to Canada to take on the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday night. This will be the first matchup against the Jets this season. Here is the game plan that Dallas needs to implement if they want to be successful in Winnipeg.

Dallas Stars vs Winnipeg Jets Preview: 3. Defend their Ambush

Winnipeg’s style of play is to throw the puck at the front of the net and keep trying to push the puck past the goalie. It’s kind of a similar style of play that Dallas does. The Stars cannot allow Winnipeg to get comfortable in their own zone or else this will be a long game.

Dallas Stars vs Winnipeg Jets Preview: 2. Attack the Net

This is probably going to be a recurring theme this season for the Stars. So far this season the Stars have not been able to shoot the puck on the net. Hitting the glass behind the net does not count as a goal.

Dallas Stars vs Winnipeg Jets Preview: 1. Win in Regulation

According to Saad Yousuf, Dallas Stars Beat Writer for The Athletic, the Arizona Coyotes, and the Dallas Stars are the only two teams in the league that has not won in regulation this season. Considering the talent the Stars have, this is not a statistic to be laughing at. You have to win in regulation if you want to make it to the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Winnipeg Jets Players to Watch

Kyle Connor

Kyle Connor is one of the top players for the Winnipeg Jets, in eight games this season he has seven goals and seven assists. He is a player the Stars need to consistently keep the puck away from. If the Stars don’t guard him, I wouldn’t be shocked if he gets a goal or two tomorrow night.

Pierre-Luc Dubois

Pierre-Luc Dubois is another top player for the Stars on the scouting report against the Jets. He only has one less goal than Connor but is still lethal. If the Stars can contain Connor and Dubois, the Stars can get their first win in regulation tomorrow night.
