The Dallas Stars host the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday night as they continue their long homestand early on in the season. The Stars still look to win their first ever game this season in regulation. Here is how the Stars can win against the Philadelphia Flyers at home.

Dallas Stars vs Philadelphia Flyers preview: 3. Let the rookies loose

Hopefully, Rick Bowness didn’t call up Reily Tufte and Jacob Peterson to appease the fans who are complaining of losing. I was shocked that Peterson’s call up to Dallas didn’t happen till today. Tufte is the leading scorer currently down in Cedar Park and maybe he’s the boost the Stars need. Peterson will also be a welcoming addition to this Stars roster as well.

Dallas Stars vs Philadelphia Flyers preview: 2. get the puck to the net

I’m tired of watching the Stars not charge at the net while they have control of the puck. If you watched the 2020 playoffs in the bubble, that’s how the Stars scored a majority of their goals and won games. They need to make the opposing goaltender feel uneasy and that starts Saturday night.

Dallas Stars vs Philadelphia Flyers preview: 1. win in regulation

The Stars need to get this off of their shoulders immediately. They are the only team to not win in regulation so far this season. Fans are desperate for just one game not to go to overtime. Let’s hope the Stars can award the faithful home crowd with a win in regulation on Saturday night.

Philadelphia Flyers players to watch

Cam Atkinson

Atkinson is the Flyers leading scorer through 12 games with six goals. He is a player that the Stars need to cover while he is on the ice. If the Stars can hold him to zero goals Saturday night, I like our chances.

Martin Jones

The Stars and their fans need to pray that Jones is not in goal for the Flyers Saturday night. Right now he has a .950 save percentage through 3 games this season. After watching some of the saves he made in those three games, fans should want Carter Hart between the pipes instead.
