The Dallas Stars welcome the Detroit Red Wings into town for their matchup of the season Tuesday night. The Stars look to continue to win in regulation after winning on Saturday night against the Flyers. Here is what the Stars need to do to beat the Detroit Red Wings.

Dallas Stars vs Detroit Red Wings Preview: 3. Stay out of the penalty box

The Stars need to continue to stay out of the penalty box in order to win games. The Stars did a good job on Saturday night by staying out of the box and only having to kill 4 penalties. If the Stars can continue that trend, they can stay in the game and not give Detroit any extra motivation to pull away in the game.

Dallas Stars vs Detroit Red Wings Preview: 2. Attack the net

Both of Detroit’s goaltenders have pretty good save percentages so far this season. I think it’s time to turn the heat up on either of them and attack the net at will. Let’s see if the Stars can make whoever starts Tuesday night earn the win and prove their save percentage is legit.

Dallas Stars vs Detroit Red Wings Preview: 1. Play the Rookies some more

Rick Bowness is turning into Rick Carlisle when he was with the Dallas Mavericks. Tufte rarely saw the ice on Saturday night which made fans ask why did the Stars call him up in the first place. Tutfe and Robertson deserve more playing time and hopefully, it starts on Tuesday night.

Detroit Red Wings players to watch

Tyler Bertuzzi

Bertuzzi is the leading scorer for the Detroit Red Wings so far this season with nine goals. He is someone I would expect the Stars to put a defenseman on when the Red Wings are in the Dallas part of the ice.

Moritz Seider

Seider is one of their top defensemen and leads the team in assists with ten this season. He’s the type of player you don’t want touching the puck on your side of the ice. I would expect the Stars to keep the puck off of his stick tomorrow night.
