The Dallas Stars are back home taking on the St. Louis Blues after a disappointing outing against the Minnesota Wild on Thursday night. The Stars can either move on from that game or continue to pout about that loss. Here is what the Stars need to do in order to move on and not sing the blues tonight.
Dallas Stars vs St. Louis Blues: 3. Forget about the 7-2 loss against the Wild
Hockey games like this happen every season for teams every season and sometimes it’s smart to burn the tape and move on. It just depends if the players decide to carry the mood into the next game. Hopefully, the Stars forget the game against the Wild and try to start another winning streak.
Dallas Stars vs St. Louis Blues: 2. Come out and dominate the first period
The best way the Stars can show the Wild game was a fluke is to come out and dominate the Blues in the first period. Show the Central division that game was a fluke and the Dallas Stars are here to compete for the division title this year.
Dallas Stars vs St. Louis Blues: 1. Play Jake Oettinger
Jake Oettinger has shown the Stars why he deserves to be the next starting goaltender. It’s time to give him some playing time while he is up here so he can develop. It makes no sense to call him up and get let him sit on the bench while Dobby continues to struggle in net this season.
Blues players to watch
Jordan Kyrou
Jordan Kyrou is their leading goal scorer through 16 games this season. Bowness needs to instruct his defense to cover this guy when the Blues are in the Stars zone tonight. If he gets on a scoring run tonight, things could get pretty miserable for the Stars.
Robert Thomas
Robert Thomas is their set-up player on offense this season so far. Thomas has 14 assists in 16 games which is pretty good. If I’m Bowness, I don’t want him to even touch the puck tonight. God only knows what will happen if he’s able to find an uncovered Blues player in front of the net.
