The Dallas Stars would go on to beat the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight 3-2. It was their 6 sixth straight victory on their current winning streak. It would also make Jake Oettinger‘s record 6-0-0 on the season and would continue to cement he is the future between the pipes for the Stars.

The fans were going to show their appreciation for the Blue Jackets goaltender after a Stars fan said some nasty stuff to him during the first matchup. However, before the game, both Columbus goaltenders would be ruled out due to an illness and would not make it to Dallas. Here is how the Stars did tonight in round two against Columbus

Dallas Stars vs Blue Jackets: 1st period

I don’t know what it with the starting line for the Stars is, but they can’t stop opening up the game with a goal. Jason Robertson was able to bury his sixth goal of the season past Danil Tarasov. This would be the fourth straight game this season that the Stars would score in the opening minute of the game.  Boone Jenner would tie the game at the 13th-minute mark.

The Stars and Blue Jackets would end up being tied 1-1 going into the first intermission. The Blue Jackets would lead the game in shots on goal 11-6 but the Stars would lead in faceoff win percentage 53 to 47 percent. Stars have to get the momentum back in this game if they want to win it.

Dallas Stars vs Blue Jackets: 2nd period

Alexander Texier would score 85 seconds into the 2nd period to give the Blue Jackets the lead for the first time in the game. However, the Stars had other plans for them. Tyler Seguin‘s knee was the MVP of the second period as the puck went off his knee to tie it at 2. Jason Robertson would go on hat trick watch a minute later as he scored to make it 3-2 going into the second intermission.

The Dallas Stars would lead in shots on goal after two periods 25-17. They would also lead in faceoffs won and win percentage as well. The Stars need to finish this game strong in order to win against the Blue Jackets.

Dallas Stars vs Blue Jackets: 3rd period

There wouldn’t be any scoring in this period for either team. Jason Robertson would try to get his hat trick when Columbus pulled their goaltender, but couldn’t get it. The Stars extend their win streak to 6 games. Dallas’s next game will be next Monday night in Dallas against the Arizona Coyotes who could be moving to Houston soon.
