Dallas Stars host the Blues after a very sad weekend
The mood around the Dallas Stars franchise has been pretty sad the last couple of days. First, it was announced Ben Bishop is retiring on Tuesday. and yesterday it was announced that Anton Khudobin has officially on waivers to make room for an extra player on the roster. Hopefully, a win on Tuesday night against the Blues will turn around the mood.
Dallas Stars vs St Louis Blues: 3. Go after loose rebounds in front of the net
The Stars would have been coming home from San Jose with a win if they would have buried a couple of loose rebounds in front of Reimer. They need to get the scoring again and I don’t care if the Blues get a breakaway. If Klingberg shoots a puck from the blue line, I want every player to crash the net for the rebound.
Dallas Stars vs St Louis Blues: 2. Play Oettinger
After putting Dobby on waivers Monday, Nill has pretty much said that Oettinger is the starting goaltender moving forward. It’s time to start him in goal Tuesday night so he can get used to playing in multiple games in a row. I can understand if Bowness thinks Oettinger needs a break for a night here and there, but he can’t deny now that he is the new franchise goaltender.
Dallas Stars vs St Louis Blues: 1. Feed off the home crowd
The Stars need to get a new winning streak going tonight against the Blues. They can do that by feeding off the crowd’s energy in the arena. I expect the American Airlines Center to be packed since the kids are out of school and college kids are home from exams. Why not give everyone in attendance an early Christmas gift with a victory over the blues?
Blues player to watch
Pavel Buchnevich
Bunhnevich is currently the Blue’s main threat when it comes to scoring going into the matchup with the Stars. He currently has 11 goals through 26 games. I know the Stars currently have a bug still going around the team, but they cannot allow him to get in front of the net with the puck.
