The Dallas Stars were able to upset the Wild tonight in Dallas by a score of 7-4. This will be the final NHL game till after Christmas due to the rising positive cases across the league. Dallas Stars vs Minnesota Wild Recap: 1st period

This was a very high action-packed 1st period for both teams so let’s break down the action. The Stars Minutemen line got right to work as Joe Pavelski scored first to make it 1-0 Stars. Esa Lindell decided to get on the action and score his first goal a couple of minutes later to make it 2-0 Stars.

That didn’t sit well with the Wild as Ryan Hartman decided to get them going by getting them on the board. Kevin Fiala decided to make things interesting by tieing the game up at 2 with a goal of his own. The tie game wouldn’t last long as Tyler Seguin would add a goal of his own to make it 3-2 Stars going into the first Intermission.

Dallas Stars vs Minnesota Wild Recap: 2nd period

Things really calmed down in the 2nd period as each team decided to add an extra goal to their tally. Roope Hintz added one for the Stars at 12 minutes into the period. Kirill Kaprizov would add a goal for Minnesota near the end of the 2nd period. The Stars would lead the Wild in shots on goal 20-14. This will be a very interesting 3rd period for the Stars to see if they can pull off the upset against the Wild.

Dallas Stars vs Minnesota Wild Recap: 3rd period

The Stars came right out of the gate in the 3rd period and got two quick insurance goals. Jacob Peterson scored the first one 2 minutes into the period and Miro Heiskanen scored the next one a minute later. Kevin Fiala would get his second of the night on the power play with 5 minutes remaining in the game to make it 6-4 Wild. Jamie Benn would score the extra point to make the final 7-4 Stars.

The remaining games this week against the Winnipeg Jets and the Chicago Blackhawks are postponed due to the rising cases across the league and will be rescheduled for a later date. Hopefully, the Stars will be able to resume the schedule after Christmas.
