The Dallas Stars were able to keep their current road trip winning streak alive as they beat the Flyers 3-1 on Monday night. The Stars will keep their winning streak alive by making it 3 straight wins in a row. Here is how the game between the Flyers and the Stars went.
Dallas Stars vs Philadelphia Flyers recap: 1st period recap
The Stars came out and got some shots on goal which was one of my keys to the game. The 1st period was basically both teams trying to see what each other was doing. Roope Hintz would capitalize on a breakaway opportunity with two minutes remaining in the first period to give the Stars a 1-0 going into the first intermission. The Stars would lead in shots on goal 10-7 after the 1st period.
Dallas Stars vs Philadelphia Flyers recap: 2nd period recap
The Dallas Stars open up the second period by getting aggressive on offense. I thought Hintz was going to go on a hat trick watch as he took the puck into the zone and got a good shot on net. Ivan Provorov would get a lucky deflection off of Klingberg’s skate as he would tie up the game at one with 7:56 remaining in the period.
In the second half of the period, the Stars continued to be aggressive by testing Carter Hart. Joe Pavelski almost got the puck to go through in the final minute of the period but hart once again was able to save it. The Stars will go into the 2nd intermission tied at one with the Flyers at 1. The Stars continue to lead in the shots on goal category 23-17.
The Stars can win this game in the third period easily. If they come out as they did in the first two periods, one shot attempt will probably go past Hart.
Dallas Stars vs Philadelphia Flyers recap: 3rd period recap
The Stars once again come out of the intermission unleashing a plethora of shots on Carter Hart and he just keeps robbing them. Miro Heiskanen had the best shot attempt in the period and Hart robbed him right in front of the net for the save of the night. Jacob Peterson was able to break the tie with a shot off Harts’s arm to make it 2-1 Stars.
The Flyers pull their goalie to get an extra man advantage and Joe Pavelski would score the game-winning goal to make it 3-1. The Stars would finish the game outshooting the Flyers 36-28. The Stars are back it again tomorrow as they take on the New Jersey Devils.
