The Dallas Stars welcome the Boston Bruins to the American Airlines Center tonight for a 6 PM hockey game. The Stars are trying to get that home ice advantage going again as the last two home games didn’t go in Dallas’s favor. Here are the keys to tonight’s game against the Bruins game.

Dallas Stars vs Boston Bruins preview: 3. Don’t let Pasta get going

David Pastrnak is the Bruin’s best player with Brad Marchand not too far behind. I call Pastrnak the Bruins “Energizer Bunny” because when he scores first, it gets that team going and the Stars can’t have that happen again at the American Airlines Center. The Stars have to shut him down or else we will have another painful home game.

Dallas Stars vs Boston Bruins preview: 2. Play Jake Oettinger

There’s no excuse for what Braden Holtby did on Thursday night and he needs a Bowness timeout. Jake Oettinger came into the game and handled the Capitals very well and I would like to see how he handles this Bruins offense. Hopefully, Holtby can get his head on straight cause we are going to need him down the stretch if the Stars get themselves in a shot at the playoffs.

Dallas Stars vs Boston Bruins preview: 1. Look alive out there

The Stars did not even look remotely alert against the Capitals. It was like their minds were getting ready for Sergei Zubov’s afterparty. I want to see the Stars come out with some energy tonight. Fans would also like to see Joe Pavelski redeem himself with a goal less than a minute into the game. Most importantly I want them to defend their home ice. It’s a cardinal sin in sports if you can’t defend your own home turf.
