Jason Robertson comes in clutch as the Dallas Stars win 4-3 in OT
Jason Robertson came through for the Dallas Stars when they needed him the most last night. The Stars were able to beat the Winnipeg Jets in OT 4-3 and pick up a crucial two points against a divisional rival. With this win the Stars are able to keep their playoff dreams within reach this season. Here is what happened at the AAC Friday night against the Winnipeg Jets.
Dallas Stars vs Winnipeg Jets: 1st period recap
The Stars came out swinging by attacking the net in the first period. Jamie Benn had an amazing opportunity to get an easy goal with Connor Hellebuyck way out of crease, but he shot it way over the net. It would remain scoreless going into the first intermission. The Stars would trail the Jets in shots on goal 12-7. It was a good first period for the Stars attacking the net, just need some of those attempts to go in.
Dallas Stars vs Winnipeg Jets: 2nd period recap
This period is when both teams would get their shot attempts going into the net. Pierre-Luc Dubois would open the scoring with a textbook deflection in front of Jake Oettinger to make it 1-0 Jets. Jason Peterson would be the first Stars player to score by sneaking in the back door on Hellebuyck to tie it at 1.
Tyler Seguin would continue the scoring for the Stars a minute later making it 2-1 Dallas. However, Jansen Harkins would tie the game up again late in the second period at 2. The Stars and the Jets would go into the second intermission tied at 2.
Dallas Stars vs Winnipeg Jets: 3rd period/OT recap
Scoring wouldn’t start until midway through the third period until Jamie Benn scored to complete his Gordie Howe Hat Trick and make the score 3-2 Dallas.
Dallas’s ability to close out games would fail in the final minute of the game as Mark Scheifele would send this game to OT tied at 3. Jason Robertson would ease the tension in the arena as he scored in OT to get the crucial two points for the Stars.

The Stars next game will be a early Sunday afternoon tilt against the Colorado Avalanche. This is another divisional game that the Stars need to win if they want to remain in the playoff race. Thankfully it was scheduled that way so no Stars fans would miss the Super Bowl later that night.
