Dallas Stars look to avoid the incoming avalanche tomorrow afternoon
The Dallas Stars have won two straight divisional games out of the All Star break and look to add a third one to the list. In order to get the third straight win, they will have to avoid the incoming Colorado Avalanche tomorrow afternoon. This will be a challenge for this young Stars team, but they should get the job done. Here are the keys to the early Sunday afternoon game in Dallas.
Dallas Stars vs Colorado Avalanche: 3. Improve the defense
The Dallas Stars need to improve their defense overall after what transpired in the final minutes of the last game. This Colorado team has a very good young nucleus of scorers in Cale Makar and Nathan McKinnon. The Stars defenseman have to take these two out of the equation for tomorrow’s game or else it will be a long day for the Stars.
Dallas Stars vs Colorado Avalanche: 2. Attack the net
The Stars did a really good job of this against Winnipeg if you look back at the goals of Jacob Peterson and Jason Robertson’s OT winner. This is the best offensive strategy that I can think of that can get the Stars back in the playoff race. The only way you can win hockey games in this league is by scoring early and scoring often.
Dallas Stars vs Colorado Avalanche: 1. Give Oettinger another start
If i’m Rick Bowness, I want to keep the goaltender on this winning streak in the net. Jake Oettinger did give up a couple of goals in the last game, excluding the first one since that was a “textbook” redirect. The only way that Braden Holtby would play tomorrow is if Oettinger gets chased from the game giving up goals.
